Whether thankful for family and loved ones, or thankful for
food and shelter, we place a great deal of emphasis on giving thanks during the
holiday season.
But why doesn’t that thought cross our minds more often?
While the holidays are a time to see loved ones and family
members, these people are still present in our lives when the holiday season is
over. While it’s not always an extravagant turkey dinner, there’s still dinner on
our tables every night.
So, let’s think about how we give thanks. Consider making—and
keeping-- a promise to give thanks every day for all our blessings, instead of limiting
our gratitude to the holidays.
Want to try it with us? Keep a notebook on your bedside
table and, every morning or night, write down three things you’re grateful for. Getting into this habit will remind us of how
grateful we are for people, places or things, every day.
