Flowers with Benefits

Spring is on its way! That means a lot less snow and a lot more flowers!

But did you know that flowers are more than just a pretty decoration on our earth? Flowers actually have a ton of benefits for your skin!

1.Roses

Roses have natural oils that help lock in moisture to your skin! Using a rosehip oil or toner with rose petal extract can do wonders for moisturizing your face. Plus, the smell is great.

2.Hibiscus

You know the ones you stick in your hair in the summertime? These flowers have a ton of antioxidants! Other than being available in hibiscus teas, the flower is found in exfoliating products, creams and serums! Hibiscus replenishes your skin and hair with a healthy shine!

3.Jasmine

Jasmine offers a floral alternative to cleansing clogged pores and helps to hydrate and soften the skin! Simply find a face wash containing jasmine, and wash with warm water. The mix of jasmine and warm water will open your pores and purify them in seconds!

4.Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle products contain plenty of Vitamin C and anti-inflammatory properties! If you have sensitive skin, find a calming honeysuckle wash to help sooth and even out any redness or flares.

5.Chamomile

Chamomile is general known as a calming tea. Other than calming your body, chamomile also works to calm your skin! This flower is known to help clear and heal troubled areas of skin with any acne or irritation.

Show some love to your skin

Valentine's Day might have passed, but that's no reason to stop celebrating love! We’re talking, celebrating love by showing some love to your skin!

Here’s how we’re showing love to our skin this holiday:

1.Hydrate

The number one rule in having healthy skin is staying hydrated. The more hydrated you are, the more hydrated your skin will be! Keep a reusable water bottle on your desk and make it a goal to drink the whole thing 3 times at work. A great challenge for you and your skin!

2.Take your makeup off

Yes, even when you’re tired, because waking up with a fresh face beats those mascara raccoon eyes any day! Trust us, your skin will thank you.

3. Use more natural ingredients

If your daily regimen isn’t cutting it, try taking a look at the ingredients in your skincare products. If the ingredients are full of chemicals that are hard to pronounce, that could be the culprit. Try swapping our your face wash with a more natural one!

4.Eat skin healthy foods

If your diet is lacking is vitamins and nutrients, your skin is too. If you’ve been snacking on greasy, junk foods instead of fresh fruits and vegetables, your skin could really be suffering. The more colorful your plate of fruits and veggies, the better!

5.Get some sleep

The last and certainly not the least step is simple: get some sleep. While that sounds easy, we know it’s difficult to get the recommended 8 hours. Try creating a set bedtime every night. Regardless of what you’re doing, when that time rolls around it’s time to get ready for bed. Soon it’ll become routine! The more rested you are, the more rested your skin will appear.

Take yourself on a date

Valentine’s Day is the epitome of a “date night.” With the heart filled holiday being right around the corner, couples are looking high and low to find a unique date idea to take their partner on.

But who says you need a partner to go out on a date? Treat yourself this Valentine’s Day and take yourself out on a date! Here are some of our favorite date night ideas:

1.Buy yourself a ticket
Have you ever gone to a show or movie with a date that talked the entire time? This date night is for you! Nothing is better than sitting through a show with no interruptions. Buy yourself a ticket to a Broadway show or a movie, dress up and head to the show alone. The best part? No sharing your popcorn!

2. Taste the world
Pick three restaurants of different genres. Grab a drink and an appetizer at one, the main course at the next and dessert and coffee at the last one! Going alone will allow you to really focus on the food and enjoy it, instead of worrying about having something stuck in your teeth the entire time you’re talking to your date!

3. At home wine night
Don’t feel like going out? No problem! Put on some comfy clothes and have your own wine tasting! Grab a few mini bottles of wine you’ve never tried before and taste away! Better yet, get some cheese from a local cheese shop to go with the wine.

Have fun on your date!

Looking Polished on the Job

Job hunting in 2016?
Here are our tips to make the best impression and land your dream job.
Dress the Part
Do your research!  Is the company you are applying to ultra casual?  Then you might want to leave the three piece suit at home.  Conversely, if you’re applying to a place that full business attire will be expected it’s best to dress up.

Make Sure You’re Comfortable
If you are constantly pulling at uncomfortable pants then you will be distracted and so will your interviewer.  Make sure your talents shine through, not ill fitting clothing.
Go Light on the Perfume or Cologne
Everyone wants to look and smell their best but go light on the fragrance it can be off-putting to some.
Practice Good Hygiene
This may seem like a no brainer but make sure your hair is well groomed, your nails are trimmed and clean and you have fresh breath.
How do you make sure you’re interview ready?
