Getting outside for Daylight Savings

Daylight savings is here; hooray! If you’re stuck in a sleepy winter slump, it’s time to get outside and get some Vitamin D.  Exposure to Vitamin D is known to release serotonin, a mood enhancer.  So get out in the sun and get happy!

We suggest:

1.Head to the park

Whether you’re going for a quick jog with your pup or sitting back and relaxing with your favorite book, try transitioning your everyday hobbies from inside to outside.

2.Change your commute

Reevaluate your daily  commute. If walking or biking isn’t an option,  park your car several blocks away from the office;  this will keep you  outside for a few extra minutes each day.

3.Alternatives to your gym membership?

When the snow and slush is gone, you have the option of taking your workout to the great outdoors.  Swap your gym membership for a brisk walk or run. No weights? No problem! Alternate  body weight exercises will get the job done.

4.Make it a priority

If your hectic work week prevents you from  getting outdoors, make it a weekend priority. Whether it’s five minutes in the morning with your cup of coffee or going to a park every Sunday afternoon, get outside!
